about

A couple strolling through the countryside spot a strange contraption, a kind of bus inhabited by a cat: it's the Chronatoscaphe. Aboard, they travel through the natosphere, taking part in a series of exciting adventures that take them back in time to the themes of the discs... To mark the 25th anniversary of nato records in 2005, the company published an exceptional anniversary book-disc in three parts: a comic strip, photographs and interviews with numerous witnesses and players. The album features three discs, selected by record store expert Olivier Gasnier, retracing the company's first 25 years, including previously unreleased material, and presented with a soundtrack designed by Jean-Jacques Birgé.

about

nato records Paris, France

Founded in 1980, nato records quickly constituted a puzzle with all sorts of openings without any other restriction than that of producing meaning, that of a music living with the world. More than a puzzle, an island perhaps, made up of passionate encounters, which made Francis Marmande write in Le Monde "The most original production of this time" (Sept. 10, 1992). ... more
