about

"It's true, we Indians are part of the American dream." The tone is set, as is the title of this Barney Bush poem dedicated to Leonard Peltier (a political prisoner since 1976) on the double album, Left for Dead. Talking about Tony Hymas, interviewed on Arte in 1993, the Shawnee poet confided: "This music is composed by a man who loves his own land. He knows how to take the time to listen to his heart beat. When he heard this poetry, he seemed to be in full alliance. Tony's music is the horse on which the rider carries his messages."

"His texts rumble like thunder, burst like lightning, awakening spirits with a rain of raging words."
Martine Laval in Télérama, April 5, 1995

Martine Laval in Télérama, 5 avril 1995

about

nato records Paris, France

Founded in 1980, nato records quickly constituted a puzzle with all sorts of openings without any other restriction than that of producing meaning, that of a music living with the world. More than a puzzle, an island perhaps, made up of passionate encounters, which made Francis Marmande write in Le Monde "The most original production of this time" (Sept. 10, 1992). ... more
